Monali Thakur (nickname "Jeanie") was born in bengali music family on November 3, 1985 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She completed her schooling from The Future Foundation School and Graduation from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. Her sister Mehuli Thakur is also a playback singer. She did her first recording for a song at age of 6. She has also trained in Bharatantayam, Hip-Hop & Salsa dance forms.
