Wajid Ali is the successful music directors of Bollywood at present, works with his brother Sajid Ali and together they are known as Sajid-Wajid. Wajid Ali has also proved himself to be a successful lyricist and playback singer as well.
His father, Ustad Sharafat Khan was a music maestro and his grandfather, Ustad Abdul Latif has been honoured with Padma Shri by Indian government.

In Composition for the movies – Dabangg, Dabangg 2, Mujhse shaadi karoge, Rowdy Rathore and Partner, they have won several nominations. Dabangg won them their first Filmfare awards too. As music directors, their first song was for Salman’s movie Pyar kiya to darna kya, and till now this association has been lucky.
